ExCITE Riverside

ExCITE Riverside, a popular startup accelerator here in downtown Riverside, California will move out of its current building and shift to another location at Lime Street Building in Downtown Riverside. The accelerator has signed a lease agreement for the new space.

The new space will be larger and the accelerator plans to move startups currently housed with it to the new building starting Nov, 2021.

ExCITE was housed in its current Riverside County location for over 5 years. Over the past few months the accelerator sought a new space that best fits ExCITE’s needs while still being able to provide a subsidized space for the startups being accelerated.

About ExCITE Riverside

Startempire Wire wrote about ExCITE’s role in fostering the entrepreneurial culture here in Riverside. The accelerator runs 6-12 month startup accelerator program and facility for technology startups. What startups should expect to reap out of their acceleration period at ExCITE is:

  • Mentorship
  • Liquidity opportunities
  • Lab space and specialized equipment along with networking opportunities

Jennifer Yturralde is currently serving as the accelerator’s ‘Programs and Outreach Specialist’ at UCR’s Office of Technology Partnerships.

One of the key resource the accelerator’s management has developed for startups is what it calls “Startup Toolbox’. It consists of bundled up services and pre-negotiated packages of local law firms and banks, HR benefits, accounting services, and CRO referrals.

Instead of a startup searching for these services individually, the accelerator provides these services through these partner service providers at a discounted rate, and in many cases free of cost.

While ExCITE Riverside is a notable startup accelerator in the Inland Empire, we did cover other business incubators and startup accelerators trying to uplift the startup ecosystem in this region. These include:

  • 4th Sector Innovations – Ontario
  • EPIC SBDC
  • Murrieta Genomics
  • Blackstone Launchpad
  • Bourns Family Youth Innovation Center
  • Palm Springs Innovation Hub (iHub)
  • The Innovation Lab – City of Riverside
  • The Life Science Incubator – UCR
  • The Inland SoCal Link iHub – Riverside County
  • Mind and Mill Startup Accelerator
  • Office of Research and Economic Development at UC Riverside (OASIS)

Our goal at Startempire Wire is to act as a megaphone to connect the dots between the best startups, events, and people in the Inland Empire. Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel, and like/follow us on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.
