Chaffey College InTech Centre is arranging a training program for the students for free. Trainees of this program will be provided with a wide variety of topics through virtual learning and hands-on lab designed to prepare them for entry-level positions in advanced manufacturing, distribution, and other highly technical industries.

Training will be offered in full-time programs, and the trainees will receive instructions on the following topics:

  • Safety
  • Soft skills
  • Mechanical components
  • Electrical components
  • Hydraulics/Pennemetics
  • Automation

Participation in the Training Programs

All students who intend to participate in a Pre-Apprenticeship, Registered Apprenticeship, Welding, or Computer Skills for the Workplace training program must complete the following procedures.

Step 1: Fill out the online application. This will take around 30 minutes to complete. Before you begin, make sure you have enough time to complete the application.

Step 2: Attend a required information session. You will be required to complete a reading and math assessment and an interview with an InTech staff member during this session. Please visit the General Information section of the online application for dates and hours for forthcoming information sessions.

Step 3: Wait for financing clearance before receiving your acceptance letter through email.

Step 4: Submit your right to work paperwork, immunization records, and a letter of selected service (males, if applicable).

Please keep in mind that all students are vaccinated.

After completing a 2-dose mRNA series [Pfizer or Moderna] or a single dosage of Johnson & Johnson’s Jansen vaccine for at least 2-weeks, a person is deemed wholly immunized.

Step 5: Get started on your exercise regimen.

Qualifying Criteria

Following is the qualifying criteria checklist that every trainee should meet:

  • By the end of the program, I will be 18 years old or older.
  • I have the necessary qualifications to work in the United States.
  • I have not previously attended an InTech Center non-credit training program. I am presently jobless or underemployed. I am available to participate in class on time (whether online or in-person) at the program’s mandated time – no exceptions.
  • I am eager to learn, and I am capable of completing all homework and in-class assignments.
  • I am interested in working full-time in a related industry to the training program and am eligible.
  • There are no outstanding arrest warrants against me.
  • I’ll be in a solid living situation for the next six months.

Other Information

The funding for this training will provide training to first-time, entry-level students to find and obtain full-time work in a relevant sector, including a formal registered apprenticeship program.

To be considered, applications must be properly filled out. Chaffey College InTech Center personnel will use the information provided in this application to understand better each possible trainee’s talents, circumstances, and requirements. The information will be kept private.

Visit the website at https://intechcenter.org/trainings/ for a list of forthcoming training sessions.

Chaffey College Obtains Generous Grants

Startempire Wire reported in the past about a $2.9M grant that Chaffey College obtained from the state’s kitty and another grant of $1.3M from the James Irvine Foundation.

In another instance, Chaffey College InTech Center won a two-year $881K contract from California’s Employment Training Panel (ETP). I reported in December last year that Chaffey College InTech Center at Cherry Ave, Fontana, CA, will provide workforce development training to companies in the Inland Empire to support job creation and retention.

To financially support this program, California’s Employment Training Panel (ETP) will give $881K to Chaffey College’s InTech Center. The program is performance-based, providing funds for trainees who successfully complete training and are retained in well-paying jobs for a specific period of time.
