About the Inclusive Innovation Hubs (iHub2)

CalOSBA will choose and award ten (10) bids to serve as California’s iHub2 for incubating and accelerating technology and science-based businesses in underserved regions and communities, particularly women and people of color. A 5-year agreement with the State of California will mark the formal certification as an iHub2. CalOSBA will grant each chosen iHub2 $250,000 to create and grow programs during the first year of operation. The total value of these one-year monetary prizes for each iHub2 will be $2.5 million.

CalOSBA developed the California Inclusive Innovation Hub initiative (iHub2) with a fresh focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, building on the strengths of the clustered regional model. With a strong outreach focus on diverse founders, including women and people of color, and underrepresented geographies and regions, the iHub2 initiative will drive technology and science-based enterprises in critical industrial areas.

iHub2 would encourage areas to construct activity centers, stimulate technology transfer, and aid embryonic enterprises with layered assistance and collaborations using current or emerging innovation resources and local industry concentrations. iHub2 will also link local innovation ecosystems and state technical help, resources, and networks, ensuring the program’s success.

CalOSBA can help with technical application questions by emailing [email protected]. The application deadline is April 1st, 2022. Applications must be sent to [email protected] via email.
