In 2022, from Kitty Fund, a total of $25,000 will be distributed, in which each of the fifty grant recipients will receive a $500 award, which will be announced at a virtual press event on May 4, 2022.

About Kitty Fund

The 2022 Kitty Fund is introduced by Founders First CDC (Founders First), a 501(c)3 non-profit that promotes expansion and job creation in a variety of founder-led, revenue-generating enterprises.

The Kitty Fund offers micro-investments in moms who manage small enterprises that employ others. Founders First CEO Kim Folsom’s mother, Catherine “Kitty” Abrams Tadlock Webster, who died in March 2020, inspired the prize presented to her on Mother’s Day.

In 2020, Kitty Fund made its initial $13K investment in 50 moms who manage small companies around the country. The honorarium for the 50 beneficiaries rose from $250 to $500 in 2021.

Kitty Fund 2022: Investing in MomPreneurs

Founders First Community Development Organization, Inc., a California non-profit public benefit corporation designated as under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) (“Founders First”), is holding an open call for grant applications (“Applications”) for prospective grant financing (“Grant”). This is an open call for applications, not a competition. Founders First has exclusive authority over the amount of Grant funding, the number of Grants distributed, and the company chosen for Grants.

Below are the requirements and details for the Kitty Fund 2022:

1. Grant money can be used as the Founders see fit, such as hiring a professional to help with paperwork preparation in order to qualify for funding.

2. The founder considers herself to be a mother.

3. The yearly revenue of the company does not exceed $5 million.

4. The company has to be based in the United States.

Grant winners can use the money any way they see fit to benefit their firms, such as hiring an expert to help them prepare documentation for expansion capital or emergency finance.

Applications will open on March 15, 2022, and end on April 11, 2022.

“I launched the Kitty Fund to pay forward the same support I received from my mom, who passed away two years ago. The Kitty Fund celebrates business-owner moms for the strength and greatness they display every day in raising their families and leading their employer-based companies in these challenging times. Mothers have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. Founders First CDC established the Kitty Fund to do something positive to add a flicker of light in their entrepreneurial journey.”

~ says, Folsom.
