This week we started by sharing with you Swoop Airlines, a Canadian ultra low-cost carrier owned by WestJet, is here in the Coachella Valley. We did cover a few startups that we think are making a significant effort in ‘eletrification’ of California’s energy and EV battery supply chain better. Swoop Airlines

Swoop Airlines, an ultra-low cost airline, will start a twice-weekly flight operation from Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) in the Coachella Valley next month to Edmonton International Airport.

Riverside Startup Pulse360

Pulse360, a Riverside-CA-based software designed exclusively for financial advisors, has partnered with risk alignment tech platform for financial advisors called Riskalyze.

Four Startups Make it as Finalists at the Riverside Angel Summit 2021

GattaCo, Inc., SiLi-ion, FarmSense, Inc., and Pharm Robotics qualified as four finalist teams at this year’s Riverside Angel Summit, competing for a prize money of $100K. The UCR media team shared that the “the program officially kicked off on Sept. 6 and culminates on Dec. 22, when investors will select at least one winning team to receive their investment“.

$20M in California Competes Tax Credits

The California Competes Tax Credit, an income tax credit available to businesses that want to locate in California or stay and grow in California, has turned out to be a boon for businesses willing to create full-time, quality jobs.

Smart EV Charging Stations of KIGT

KIGT, headquartered in Ontario, California is trying to reshape 100 years of human habit by providing an alternate source of powering vehicles through smart EV charging stations. The startup provides faster charging at home with software that makes it easier to manage fueling and energy expenses. KIGT is an Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Manufacturer that also creates the operating software. 

ReJoule: Solving for the EV Battery Problem

ReJoule was founded in 2017 and is based in Signal Hill, CA. The startup received $1.2M from a Phase I SBIR and Phase II grant from the National Science Foundation, $600K from CalSEED guided by California Energy Commission May 2020, and we were awarded a $3M grant to validate second-life batteries, also by the California Energy Commission.
